ESPN
is reporting that rescue groups can start applying to find homes for pit bulls seized from
Michael Vick's dogfighting operation. Apparently, the court appointed a guardian, animal law expert Rebecca Huss, to the 48 members of Vick's "Bad Newz Kennels." Huss applied with the court to begin a process of placing these poor dogs with rescue groups.
Readers of the blog know I was lobbying for
PETA to step up and save the dogs from what looked like certain death. I don't know whether they'll be involved in the rescue, but I'll keep you updated.
