This map has been floating around the internet for awhile now, but just in case you haven't seen it yet, it replaces the name of each state with the name of a country with a similar Gross Domestic Product (GDP). For example, if California were it's own country, its economy would be roughly the size of France's (the 8th largest economy in the world!). Other notable comparisons: New Jersey = Russia, New York = Brazil; Illinois = Mexico, and Tennessee = Saudi Arabia.
