Super Tuesday II: The Reckoning

It looks like the two major contests today, Ohio and Texas, will end up deciding the Democratic nomination. The conventional wisdom says that if Obama wins both of these states, then it's all but over for Hillary. But if she wins both, or wins one and the other one is really close, she will be close enough to argue for the reinstatement of the Florida and Michigan delegates, or at least to ask all those superdelegates to consider the results from those barred primaries, which she probably would have won (she did win, but the other candidates didn't campaign there). And we can't forget about the remaining delegates out there pledged to John Edwards. Perhaps negotiations are going on in the dark, smoky back rooms as we speak.

My prediction is that Hillary will win both states, and this will turn into the Bush v. Gore of the Democratic Party. What fun!
