I really hope this isn't true. Obviously she will have plausible deniability even if it is. I would be saddened to think her campaign is really that cynical and power-hungry, though. As demonstrated by Robert Reich's endorsement for Obama, the true believers in the party have pretty much abandoned her at this point because of antics like this, and if she ends up winning, it will really de-legitimize the party in terms of its perceived moral highground.
