The Washington Post is reporting that people around New York and Washington D.C. have seen strange dragonfly-like robots flying around. There has been speculation that these could be some new U.S. surveillance tool. Of course they could also be dragonflies -- I guess no one has caught one to take a closer look yet.
Anyone who remembers the robo-spiders in Minority Report knows that this is the kind of thing that has been imagined by sci-fi nerds for years. If these things were used as a deterrent for public crime, as opposed to constitution-bending surveillance tools, I'd be for 'em. Cameras everywhere! Watch out!
