- Africa is larger than you thought it was, or everything else is smaller than you thought it was. Either way, you were apparently mistaken. But seriously: you could fit India, China, the continental U.S., and most of Europe inside the borders of Africa, with room to spare for malaria-carrying insects, a few child militias and a bit of generalized misery.
- Seinfeld teaches us something about economics. Maybe if our politicians do the opposite of what their instincts tell them (per George's epiphany), we can get this country's finances in order. Just keep watching those reruns, Barack.
- Supposedly, Twitter activity can predict stock market behavior. If there is a lot of calm language out there in the Twitterverse instead of panicked language, it means that people who spend time on computers are calmer and less panicked. A solid hypothesis. By that I mean, "a-duh".
